THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE/APPOINTMENT FOR STAFF/RESCUE MARSHALS
OF SOCA FOUNDATION.
- A staff/Rescue marshal must be totally fit and medically tested and certified to carry out his/her duties as a staff/Rescue Marshal and must obtain a medical document from any of the SVC Accredited hospitals Nation-wide which shall be presented to the organization to put in his/her file. Failure to have this document in his/her file will result to loosing his/her appointment with the organization after his/her first three months of service. Once we receive your medical documents, you will be entitled to the SVC health care 100% program as a staff in any hospital of your choice that is registered in the program.
- Your Probation will only be confirmed after two weeks of character check and general appraisal on your conduct, punctuality, attitude to work, respect to authorities and level of efficiency in carrying out your job. Note that within this first two weeks, if you are unable to pass the character check and general appraisal test, you will be dismissed without any form of benefits or payment; it is only after the two weeks that your probation will now be confirmed and will run for six months.
- While on your six months probation, if you decide to resign your appointment, you must give the organization a one month written notice, or forfeit your one month salary in lieu of notice without any entitlement.
- While still on your probation, if the organization dismisses your services, you will be paid for that month, which is the month you were dismissed.
- Once your appointment is fully confirmed as a staff/Rescue marshal, you can only resign your appointment by giving a two months written notice to the organization, or forfeit your two months salary in lieu of notice.
- Once your appointment is fully confirmed as a staff/Rescue marshal, you can only be relieved of your services with a month’s notice or salary in lieu of notice.
- Only after your appointment is confirmed by the management of the organization that you will now start receiving your housing/transport allowances monthly.
- You cannot take any other appointment while you are still working with the organization, if this is known, it will result to dismissal without any form of benefits no matter the number of months or years you have put in the organization. Note that this excludes private owned businesses; by this we mean another salaried employment.
- You can only be entitled to any form of gratuity only if you have put in 10 years of service in the organization. This will be calculated with the prevailing labour rates or as approved by the organization board.
- After you must have put in active service for one year, you will then be entitled to apply for a loan to the tone of the aggregate of your one year housing/transport allowance; also you will now be entitled to a monthly casual leave which must be in two or more sections.
- Within your first one year of service, you will not be entitled to any form of casual leave, if you fail to come to work by any means either through a written application asking for permission or whatever means for an accumulated 30 days within the first one year of service, it will result to dismissal without any form of benefits whatsoever.
- Failure to keep to approved resumption time, closing time and break periods irrespective of your position in the organization will amount to negligence of duty and could result to termination of your appointment after several cautions without any form of benefits whatsoever; no matter the number of months or years you have put in the organization.
- Strict adherence to all the foundation’s rules, regulations and policies must be our priority, failure to which could result to termination of your appointment without any form of benefits whatsoever; no matter the number of months or years you have put in the organization.
- Any form of gross misconduct, misrepresentation of the organization or financial misappropriation will amount to dismissal from the organization without any form of benefits whatsoever and eventual hand over of such staff or rescue marshal to the police for prosecution.
- Any form of indiscipline or insubordination will for the first time attract a caution. Any subsequent act of such nature will result to dismissal from the organization with out any form of benefit whatsoever.
- All staff and Rescue marshals must put in 22 - 30 days of work before salaries are paid into their accounts. Rescue marshals will not be paid during their two weeks off operations.
- Discipline and respect for all constituted authorities in the various unit stations shall be the highest priority of any rescue marshal, any form of query from your unit commander on the contrary will amount to facing a disciplinary committee, duly constituted by the management, and where the act giving rise to the query is established, it will attract a one month manual labour without pay at the Nassarawa camp of the organization or outright dismissal.
- If you (Staff/Rescue Marshals) destroy or damage any property of the foundation, repairs will be done and the money will be deducted from your salaries monthly until it is fully paid for.
- Any form of complaint or dissatisfaction with the organization, its staff or management shall only be communicated to the management in a written form. The Organization will not condone any form of direct confrontation, threat or any form of gross misconduct whether justified or not as that will attract immediate dismissal without any entitlements whatsoever.
- Respect for hierarchy and flow of information must strictly be followed as directed, otherwise all persons involved will have to face a disciplinary committee. Where they are found guilty, they will be treated to a one month manual labour at the Nassarawa camp without pay or face dismissal without any form of benefit whatsoever.
- Once you are dismissed from the organization either as a staff or a rescue marshal, you can no longer work for the organization.
I have carefully gone through the terms and conditions of service for staff/rescue marshal of SOCA FOUNDATION and have understood the details and accept same.
